I am called Unique. I am a witch of the light. I have not always been a witch. Once I was a human woman. I was born to a nice, gentle couple many years ago. Ten years later, they had another child, my sister, whom they named Xartress.

When I was sixteen years old, a band of raiders attacked our village, taking all the young men and women captive. My mother and father were killed in the raid, but my sister avoided capture when another village woman hid her in the forest near our home. I was not so lucky and was captured and later sold to a cruel man who beat me and tried to make a slave out of me. After many long years of being beaten by this man I was finally able to escape. An old woman in the woods took me in and cared for me. She was a witch.

The old witch taught me everything there was to know about casting spells and being a witch. My final step to becoming a witch was to give up my mortal form and existence and become a witch of the sisterhood of witches. I was now able to cast many spells, change shapes and call upon the elements of nature to do my bidding. I was happy in my life but felt something was missing. I kissed the old witch good bye and started off in search for this unknown need deep in my heart.

One day I was befriended by the Lady of the Lake, she told me of a place that I might start a new life and use my powers. I found Beware just as she said. I also ran across a friend that I had lost contact with and became his heart protector. This man was a great knight but was tired of the fighting and battles. He was the brother of Lady of the Lake and was called Northern Night.

Northern Night was involved with a very adventurous lady of the realm called lilwolf. I felt that something was bothering Northern Night but even with my witch powers were unable to tell what it was. One night it dawned on me what it was that I was missing in my life. It was love and I knew the one I loved was Northern Night. I knew I was about to totally lose him to lilwolf and yet I felt that I must unburden my heart to him. That night I told him of my love for him. My heart was breaking as I spoke the words to him, knowing that he belonged to lilwolf. Just as I turned to leave him after giving them my blessings, he stopped me and told me that I was the one that held his heart. My heart stopped at his words and I was shaking so badly I felt the earth was trembling under my feet. That night will always be in my heart.

Not long after admitting our love to each other, Northern Night asked me to be his wife. No woman could have been happier or prouder than I was. We made our wedding plans and were very happy, but as the fates would have it a dark cloud descended over us and our wedding plans. I almost threw away my chance at happiness with Northern Night, but being the wise man that he is, he didn’t let anything stand in our way. He made the arrangements in a very short period of time, got the priest and we were married. We have almost been married a year now and our love has only grown stronger under his tenderness and caring ways. He has shown me what true love is and the happiness of being with a good man. We have many good friends, Minstrel of the Dawn and his wife, CountryRose and our God Child CrystalRose. I also have made friends in all paths of live within Beware that make my life even happier. I found that my sister Xartress had also found her way to Beware. I could say that this is a happy ending, but my life with Northern Night is only the beginning and I know there are many, many more years of happiness to come as his wife.
